Tom T. Hall was impressively consistent in the 1970′s, and one of his noteworthy albums was, I Wrote A Song ABout It, which contained the major hit “Deal” and hte amusing “I Like Beer”. Some of the best songs on this LP weren’t major hits, and Hall reminds listerners how superb a storyteller he can be on everything form “It Rained in Every Town Excpet Paducah” to the poignant “The Trees in Philadelphia”, a rare example of a country artist singing affectionately about a large Northeastern city.
